About Me

I have been doing practice-based research with Agile teams since 2005. I am interested in the details of Agile practice — the day-to-day realities of Agile development teams in industrial settings — and how this relates to academic perspectives. In my PhD research I pursue this interest in the context of Agile developers and User Experience designers working together to create software. Most recently my field work has focused on small to medium-sized Agile teams based in the UK. Prior to starting my PhD I completed an MSc on a similar topic, where my research involved teams from New Zealand, Ireland, Canada, USA and Finland. Results from this research have been presented at conferences such as XP2007, Agile2007, Agile2008 and XP2010.

I used to be part of the ELVIS resesarch group at Victoria University of Wellington.
